A Korean high school student has established and operates a nonprofit organization aimed at improving financial literacy among teenagers and educating them on this essential skill. The Future Finance Fellowship (FFF) is a nonprofit investment club founded in 2021 by Jaden Kim (Korean name: Minjae) when he was a 9th grader, and he is currently a senior at Orange County School of the Arts. The organization aims to equip local students with essential financial literacy skills for long-term success by providing financial education.
FFF has gained attention by conducting workshops on topics such as budgeting, credit scores, and debt management for high school students. The organization has expanded its reach beyond California, with chapters now active in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Providence, Rhode Island. To date, over 1,000 students across these states have participated, and about 250 active members are involved in FFF’s activities. Last month, the organization received a $5,000 sponsorship from the multinational insurance company MetLife to support its activities and workshops.
Kim stated, “I hope to expand FFF nationwide in the future” and added, “I aim to introduce more interactive learning tools like simulations and mobile resources to help students apply financial concepts in their daily lives.”
